How It Works

The IPM-BOD-303 operates on the respirometric (manometric) principle, where microorganisms present in the sample consume dissolved oxygen while degrading biodegradable organic matter.

As oxygen is consumed, a pressure change occurs inside the sealed sample bottle. Carbon dioxide generated during the biological process is automatically absorbed, allowing the instrument to accurately determine the oxygen demand based on pressure variation.

The analyzer continuously monitors the process and automatically calculates the BOD value without requiring chemical titration, making the testing process faster, safer, and more reliable.
